Debby Levon Lewis, 77, was born on July 12, 1949, in Sherman, Texas, and passed away on September 18, 2026. A longtime resident of Kennedale, Texas, Debby will be remembered most for the steady love she gave so freely—love that made people feel seen, safe, and supported in the ordinary moments that matter most.
Raised in Sherman, Debby graduated from Sherman High School in 1967, carrying forward the roots and values of her hometown throughout her life.
In 1970, Debby married Michael Lewis, and together they welcomed two children. Debby’s devotion to home and family shaped the rhythm of her days. As a homemaker, she poured her care into the people around her, offering a dependable presence and a heart that could always be counted on.
Debby found joy in simple pleasures and shared time—fishing trips, shopping outings, and being with friends and family. Nothing delighted her more than spoiling her six grandchildren, and her love for them was unmistakable in the attention, warmth, and pride she gave so naturally.
Debby was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lewis; her daughter, Michelle Lewis; her father, Lloyd Short; and her mother, Betty James.
Debby is survived by her daughter, Ginger Lewis and wife Shannon Merriman; and her grandchildren, Colby, Trevor, Shaylee, Jaci, Kyler, and Joseph; and her sister, Brenda Short.
Those who knew Debby will carry forward the memory of a loving and supportive daughter, sister, mom, and grandma—someone whose quiet strength and tenderness left a lasting imprint on the family and friends she held close.
