Delbert was born to Owen Arley Goss and Viola Bell (Baker) Goss on November 11, 1930 in Welch, OK. He went to be with his Lord on September 29, 2019 in Arlington, TX.
Delbert came from very humble beginnings growing up on the family farm. When he reached the 9th grade he quit school to take a job so that he could help contribute to the family. It wouldn’t be until after he was married that he would go back to school and earn his high school diploma. Delbert served in the U.S. Army for three years. In April of 1952, he married the love of his life, Jean F. Robison. They were married for 63 years, until the time of her passing in Oct. 2015. Delbert learned to be a Tool and Die maker during his apprenticeship with Brettrager Manufacturing in Michigan. He then worked for General Motors from 1965-1995. He retired after 30 years. In 1968, he and his wife were also entrepreneurs and owned a restaurant in Reese, MI called Jeannie’s Restaurant. Later, Delbert also worked as a truck driver. In their spare time, Delbert and Jean enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and camping.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents: his brother, Melbourn; beloved wife, Jean, and his daughter, Dawn.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Debra Powell and her husband Danny of Houston; Diane Goss of Arlington; Tammie Goss of Denton; Cindy Goss of Houston; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and his special friend, Gayle Hardin.
