Dianne Elizabeth Gutzmer passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Methodist Mansfield Hospital in Mansfield, Texas. She was born on November 12, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, to Michael and Evelyn Rose Cozzi. When she was four years old, Dianne and her older brother, John, were adopted by Richard and Elizabeth Dalton. The Daltons were an Air Force family and lived wherever Richard was stationed, in Colorado, North Dakota, New York, the Netherlands, and France.
Dianne was baptized at Saint Louis Chapel in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. She attended school in many different locations, graduating from Grand Junction High School, in Grand Junction, Colorado.
On August 10, 1968, Dianne married Norman E. Gutzmer, her partner for life, at Boca Chica Naval Air Station, in Key West Florida. During their marriage, Dianne and Norman were blessed with a daughter, Joanna Elizabeth Gutzmer, and a son, David Richard Gutzmer. They were also blessed with a daughter-in-law, Melissa Gutzmer, and two wonderful granddaughters, Madison Gutzmer and Melody Gutzmer, all of whom were residing nearby at the time of her death.
Dianne is survived by her husband, her son and daughter, daughter-in-law, her granddaughters, her sister-in-law, Sharon Carter, of Grand Prairie, Texas, her sister-in-law, Linda Dalton, of Ignacio, Colorado, her brother-in-law, Armin Gutzmer, his wife, Kathy McClintock, and her nieces, Dee Ellison, Emily Gutzmer, and Abigail Gutzmer. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and her brother, John William Dalton.
All who knew Dianne, loved her for her bubbly personality and infectious laughter. She spent most of her childhood moving from country to country, state to state and city to city. During her fifty-eight years of marriage as she continued to move from one place to another she made friends who benefited from the fun she brought to their lives.
Dianne enjoyed crocheting and made beautiful baby blankets which will be keepsakes for those who received them. She loved cooking, and was the “queen of every holiday”. Dianne will be remembered for her generosity, her love of people, birds and animals.
A celebration of her life will be held at two o’clock, p.m. at Moore Funeral Home, located at 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012, for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the ASPCA of Texas, or a charity of your choice.
