Dolores Cosme Sosa

Dolores was born on June 28, 1956 to Manuel Cosme and Carmen Sosa in The Bronx, New York. After graduating from Escuela Manuel Mendez Luciaga in 1974, she went on to study English at Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico.

After graduation, she pursued a career as a teacher for over 30 years.

She grew up in San Sebastian Puerto Rico, where she met and was married to Angel Gonzalez on September 4, 1982, going on to have 2 children, Miguel and Izel Gonzalez.

When Dolores had Miguel and Izel, she dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Dolores committed her life to her children and family and supporting them through their many passions and difficulties of their lives. She was best known by many for welcoming everyone as family and opening her home and heart to anyone who was in need.

Dolores was very passionate about crocheting, loved to dance, and above all enjoyed spoiling her 5 grandchildren. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found cheering on her children, and later on, her grandchildren at their many sports events, rain or shine. Her loss has left a great hole in our hearts and we will miss her greatly.

Dolores is preceded in death by mothers Julia Hernandez & Carmen Sosa, father Manuel Cosme, brothers Johnny Cosme, Orlando Diaz, and nephew Stephon Diaz.

She is survived by her parents Julio and Norma Arocho, husband Angel Gonzalez, son Miguel Gonzalez and his wife Janet Gonzalez, daughter Izel Gonzalez and her husband Jonathan Hernandez, her grandchildren Marissa Favela, Adrian Gonzalez, Damian Hernandez, Julisel Favela, Mia Favela, and siblings Jose Manuel Cosme, Yvonne Cosme, Edward Cosme, Angel Rivera, Virginia Perez, Jeanette Cosme Rodriguez, Javier Diaz, Carlos Diaz, Evelyn Diaz, Francisco Diaz, Normanette Arocho, Sarely Arocho Pendas, Julio Arocho and a very large extended family.

Visitation will be held on 12/02/2021 from 5-9pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service on 12/03/2021 at 10:00 am. Both will be held at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
