Donald Jude Colorado

Don was born in Fort Worth, TX, and raised in San Antonio, TX where he graduated from Central Catholic High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. He taught Social Studies in San Antonio for over 6 years before joining the IBM Corporation in Corpus Christi, TX. Don eventually moved back to the Fort Worth area where he met his wife, Marian. After a successful career with IBM (and Lexmark) and a few small, fill-in jobs, Don finally once again put his education degree to work. He taught 7th grade Math at Henry W. Longfellow Middle School and the William B. Travis Academy in Dallas ISD before he retired. Don found out he wasn’t very good at just sitting at home and took on jobs at Trader Joe’s, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Lowe’s, Hobby Lobby, and Hallmark to keep himself busy.

Don had a lot of hobbies. He really enjoyed listening to music, reading, and watching movies, with an extensive collection of DVDs. He also enjoyed comic books, Lego’s, Star Wars memorabilia, and others. He especially liked Spiderman, Boba Fett, and Mandalorian. Don was a huge fan of sports. He enjoyed walking, running, and biking and a big fan of watching football games, both professional and college (Go Aggies). Don was known for his gentle soul, and his calm, friendly demeanor. He was a hard worker, animal lover, and a friend to all. He will be greatly missed!

Don was preceded in death by his parents Natalia Patricia Perez Colorado and Paul Santos Colorado. He is survived by his wife Marian Colorado, Grapevine, TX, sister Elizabeth Godbey (husband Steve) of Alvin, TX with nephews, Jarrod Abbott, Chris Abbott, and Jonathan Abbott and sister, Elaine Boyd (husband Lee), of Cottonwood, AZ. He has two great nieces and one great nephew plus two more nephews and four nieces, by marriage.
