Donald Earl Gustin of Midlothian passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012. He was born December 13, 1948, in Amarillo. Known to family and friends as Gus, he was a longtime resident of Fort Worth. He served two tours in Vietnam with the United States Air Force and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Gus was like a precious stone who always made you feel special, like you were the only person in the room. Gus made you feel valued and you knew you had his positive support whatever your endeavor. He was a man's man who hunted, fished and gardened, armed with tools in his hands and a smile on his face. There was never anyone who he refused to help. He was a patriot for his country and loved the red, white and blue. Gus might have lost his battle with cancer, but became a winner. There was a vacancy in the guardian angel division at heaven's gate and God was calling him to duty. He took his last breath and said great and goodbye to his one and only love, Glenda, who was his champion and hero. He loved his family and friends and didn't want to let them go.
