Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 pm. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Texas Alzheimer's Research Consortium, or to the American Diabetes Association.

Donald L. Janes Sr. was born on Oct. 6, 1933, in Frost to Lee and Marcine Janes. He grew up in Argo, Ill., and began raising a family in Hickory Hills, Ill. He and his family moved to Arlington in 1972. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years and retired in 1996. He spent the last 11 years living in Granbury where he enjoyed working in his yard and watching old Western movies.

He will always be remembered for his fun-loving personality and devotion to his family.

Survivors: His wife, Anella Janes of Granbury; son, Donald Janes Jr. and wife, Debra, of Mansfield; son, Philip Janes and wife, Deidra, and grandsons, Philip Jr. and Christopher, of Arlington; daughter, Kathleen Merck and husband, Danny, and grandsons, Kaleb, Kasey and Kyler, of Keller; sister, Melba Hill of Summit, Ill.; brother, James Janes and wife, Marcia, of Lake Port, Ill.; niece, Wanda Kline and husband, Greg, of Bridgeview, Ill.; nephew, Kenneth Hill of Justice, Ill.; stepdaughter, Lisa McCamy, and husband, Cam, and children, Ella and Collin; plus numerous other loving famiy and friends.
