She was born in Fort Worth to James Henry Knighten and May Collins on March 16, 1938. Donna lived in Texas most of her life, but graduated from high school in West Plains, Mo., while her family lived there. She worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for over 20 years and enjoyed being around babies and children. Donna and Charles were members of Central Baptist Church in Mansfield for around seven years.
Survivors: Husband, Charles Carpenter; sons, Jerry Thomas Williams and James Robert Williams; daughter, Janet Ladonna Williams Deel; stepsons, Tim Carpenter and Tom Carpenter; brothers, Clifford Knighten and Bobby Smith; three grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
