

Doris was born April 2, 1945 in Ennis, Texas to Burton Elbridge Ferguson and Eddie Fae Scarborough. She was raised on a farm with five older Brothers and one younger Sister. She was employed by Martin Sprocket and Gear in Arlington for 35 years; beginning as general office, then moving to Sales,
remaining in that capacity until retirement in 2011.
After her children were grown, she returned to music and was involved in that endeavor at Lamar Baptist Church; auditioned and was chosen to sing The National Anthem for The Texas Rangers in 2004.
She is survived by her daughters, Julie Lewis-Ausmus of Arlington and Melissa Morris, her husband Ricky Morris and their two children – Chaz and Sheyann – all of Fort Worth; Brothers, Gene Ferguson – Lake Worth, TX, Ben Ferguson – San Jose, CA. and James Ferguson, Ennis, TX., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Jimmy L. Lewis, one Sister, Susan Van Burkleo and two Brothers, Charles and John Ferguson.
