Born March 3, 1937, in Tahoka, Texas, to Harold Visco Everson and Gertrude Mellisia Brand, Dottie grew up in West Texas and graduated from Odessa High School in 1954.
On July 24, 1954, Dottie and Sam were married in Fort Worth and lived their life together in Odessa. Dottie was a faithful and active member of Crescent Park Baptist Church for more than 60 years. Sam preceded her in death in 2002.
In 2019, she moved to Mansfield to be closer to her children.
She is survived by her two children, Patti Parish and her husband Greg of Mansfield, Texas and Sam Ballew III and his wife Kathy of Rockwall, Texas; her grandchildren, Clint Parish and his wife Mackenzie, Catie Roach and her husband Quent, Travis Ballew and his wife Nicki, and Cole Ballew; and her six great-grandchildren, Walker, Emma, Rhett, Raylee, Audrey, and Archie.
A celebration of Dottie’s life will be held at **12:00 noon on Monday, June 1, 2026**, at **Moore Funeral Home, North Chapel in Arlington, Texas**, with burial to follow at **1:00 p.m.** at **Moore Memorial Gardens**, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved Sam.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the **Parkinson’s Foundation** (parkinson.org) or a charity of your choice.
Dottie will be remembered for her warm smile, strong faith, and the deep, unconditional love she had for her family. She cherished her many lifelong friendships and enjoyed playing cards and working puzzles with her dear friends. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
