

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington. Burial will be at Moore Memorial Gardens.
Dorothy was born June 12, 1930 to Joe John and Angie Belle Hill in Waurika, Oklahoma. She spent her youth in Sunset, Texas and graduated high school in San Diego, California.
She married Alvin Fielder, Jr. and they raised their family in Grand Prairie. She and Alvin were active with the Dallas Carpenter's Union and they also served as local election officials for many years. After Alvin passed in 1995, Dorothy moved to Decatur. Dorothy was a loving and selfless caregiver to her family and neighbors throughout her life. She prided herself in making Angel Food cakes for people. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter, and was a member of the Decatur Quilting Club.
Dorothy attended church her entire life, starting with Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Sunset. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie for many years and then with her move to Decatur, she joined First Baptist, Decatur. Dorothy's sweet and positive spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory: brother, James Hill and wife Charlotte of Buda; four daughters, Melva Hodges and husband Jimmy of Rowlett; Beth Hoover and husband Richard of Hurst; Claudene Griffith and husband Bill of Taylor; and Brenda Berrier of Decatur; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents; sister Barbara Hodges Miller of Decatur; brother Bob Hill of Grand Prairie; son-in-law Ron Berrier of Decatur, and great grandchild Avery Hodges of Rowlett.
