

Doug served in the Navy on an air craft carrier during the Vietnam War. After the Navy, Doug spent the majority of his career as an accountant.
Doug was an animal lover, loved gardening, reading, and watching TV and Movies. He was a very religious man who loved being a part of a church community and loved donating both time and money to causes such as special needs services, veterans, animals, helping the elderly, and general community outreach.
Doug was very active a father. He taught the kids' Sunday School classes, coached their softball teams, and led their Adventure Guides groups.
Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine C. Hewett and son Bryan Douglas Hewett.
He is survived by his daughters Erin Hewett and Heather Hewett Clary, son-in-law Mark Clary, grandson Cole Clary, grand-daughters Sydney Clary, Sawyer Clary and Dylan Clary, grand-dogs Oliver, Obi, Walter, Bob Yoda, Miley, and grand-cat Carl.
Doug will have a visitation at 1:30pm, Friday, December 12, 2025 at Moore Funeral Home with a graveside to follow at 2 pm at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Drive Arlington, TX 76012.
For those wishing to honor Doug's memory, the family suggests donations to the Ashford Rise School of Dallas.
