Doyle Gregory Vines

Doyle Gregory Vines was born on Monday July 16, 1962 in Dallas, Texas to the parents of Frank Ray VInes and Tommie Jean Meador. He was a young age of 62 when he went home to be with Jesus on Thursday August 1, 2024, in Dallas, TX while surrounded by his wife and kids.

Greg was a much-loved and respected Mechanical Manager at Straight Line Hardwoods Inc. of Ft. Worth, TX. He was Larry Brown’s first employee and for the past 24 years making an everlasting impression.

Greg was a simple quiet man who loved God and his family above all else. He was patient, gentle, kind and with so much joy and love in his heart, would always put others before himself. His infectious laughs, goofy grins and jokes would melt your troubles away. He enjoyed spending time in his garage woodworking and was a handy man who could make something from nothing.

Greg met his wife on a blind date and talk about love at first sight. They married less than 2 years later and began escaping to the beach as often as they could. Quiet walks on the beach, playing a game of washer in the sand and getting lost in the sand dunes.

He was preceded in death by his father Frank Ray Vines and his nephew Rusty.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Sherri Lea Vines, of 41 years; daughter Olivia LaPierre and wife Brandy of Ennis, TX and daughter Melissa Vines of Arlington, TX. He is survived by his mother Tommie Jean (Meador) Vines.

Greg is also survived by his brother Tommy Ray Vines of Midlothian, TX; sister Janice Garman of Canyon Lake, TX; sister Cathy Serrano and Husband Larry of Georgetown, TX. He is survived by his seven nephews and eight nieces in which many memories will go on about Uncle Greg.

Grandpa will be missed by granddogs Gypsy & Zoey, his best friend Chance (the grandcat) and every one of the lives touched by Greg.

Doyle will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son, friend, and colleague to all that knew and cared for him. Doyle will be truly missed by many relatives and friends, cherishing all the good memories shared with him.

Celebration of Life Services for Doyle Gregory Vines will be held on Tuesday August 13, 2024 at 9:00 AM. At Moore Funeral Home - South Chapel 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012.
