DuWayne Larry Nuebel was born in Pueblo, Colorado to Doris Lundblade. DuWayne was later adopted by Bernard and Phyliss Nuebel and raised in the Denver area. After graduating from high school, DuWayne joined the Marine Corps and proudly served for 7 years. After leaving the Marine Corps, DuWayne worked as assistant manager for the Crossing Restaurant in Yuma, Arizona. DuWayne went on to work in various roles and positions within automotive sales industry for many years living in Kansas, Nebraska, and then Texas. In his later years, DuWayne joined ADT, working in sales of security systems. Throughout his career, DuWayne enjoyed working in various leadership roles, meeting new people, and pleasing his customers.
Family and friends enjoyed DuWayne’s great sense of humor. He enjoyed laughing and making others laugh. He enjoyed sports, particularly playing golf, and cheering for the Denver Broncos and Kansas Jayhawks. DuWayne’s greatest love and enjoyment was being a father to his daughter and grandfather to his granddaughter. He was very proud of his “baby girls”.
DuWayne is survived by his daughter, Casey L. Nuebel; granddaughter Haven Rodriguez; sister Tina Janssen and brother-in-law Mark Janssen; sister Michelle Sanders; and several loving nieces and nephews: Christina Brannon, Stacy Fedler, Damion Fedler, Brendan O’Neill, Eliza O’Neill, Daisha Melick; Tyler Fedler, Jacob Fedler, Charlee Fedler, Jamie Lee Janssen, Luke Janssen; brother and sister-in-law Brian and Lisa O’Neill; father and mother-in-law Bob and Bonnie Newton; and ex-wife Lori Gonzalez, who he maintained a friendship with over the years.
Memorial service for DuWayne will be at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N Davis, Arlington TX on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 1:00. Burial ceremony will follow at the Dallas Fort Worth National VA Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX on November 12, 2020 at 3:00.
