U.S. Navy Retired
Ed was born September 24, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ. He graduated from Clifton High School in Clifton, NJ. Ed joined the Naval Reserve in October 1949 and on February 14, 1950 was enlisted to active duty with United States Navy. He retired on September 16, 1969 at NAS Los Alamitos, CA serving as Enlisted Representative to the Commanding Officer and Chief Master at Arms. He was regarded as one of the Navy’s finest instructors and recognized as an outstanding leader of men. On October 3, 1953 he married Dorothy Anderson of Dallas, TX who remained his faithful wife for 64 years. They have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. After retiring from the navy he worked for the Xerox Corporation, and the University of Texas at Arlington, in the Geology Department retiring from there in 1991. His family and friends will remember him for his dedication to his family, his wonderous sense of humor and willingness to lending a helping hand. He thought of his wife and children as his best friends and will be remembered by his grandchildren as the lovable Dzaidziu. He recorded his family history each month in a newsletter titled the Bullshooter for over 20 years. He was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and previously Most Blessed Sacrament and St. Matthew in Arlington, Ed was dedicated to his faith. He was a teacher of religious education at Saint Matthew and for many years active in both adult and teen age education. He was a member of the Cursillo Movement in Dallas and Fort Worth. Ed was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, The Retired Enlisted Association and the Naval Air Station Dallas, TX Ex-Stationkeepers Associaton. He is survived by his wife, Dottie; daughter Valerie Ricci and husband Jeff; sons, Vincent and wife Cindi and Victor and wife Laura; grandchildren, Olivia, Rachel, Jenna, Calvin and Beau. Also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2017 at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76017
Burial with full military honors will be 12:30 p.m., March 14, 2017 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Veterans Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
