Edwin was born September 16, 1948 in Calexico, California, to Donald Marlin and Gertrude Mahoney. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. During his military service, he earned the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Overseas Service Bars. He attained the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and continued serving in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1973.
Following his military service, Edwin built a long career in the aviation industry. He worked for Bell Aerospace, Tulsa Air Beechcraft Inc., Staci's Jet Center Meacham, and concluded his career with American Eagle at DFW Airport. He took great pride in his work and the friendships he made throughout the years.
Edwin enjoyed listening to oldies music, spending time with family and friends, and, above all, fishing. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of the outdoors, and the many memories he shared with those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Marlin.
Edwin is survived by his sister, Linda Marlin; his brother, Chapper Marlin; his sons, Trevor Marlin and Troy Marlin; and his beloved grandson, Theodore Marlin.
