Ellie was born on August 27, 1921, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to John Gorman and Mae Evans. She spent her early years in Waukesha and graduated from Carroll College in 1943.
In 1944, Ellie married the love of her life, Earl Tetzlaff. Together they built a loving home and raised two children. Ellie devoted herself to her family as a stay-at-home mother while also generously giving her time as a volunteer for numerous charitable organizations throughout her life.
Ellie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved bowling, working in her yard, feeding the birds, swimming, and spending time with her beloved golden retrievers, Elsa and Bear. She was also a devoted Texas Rangers fan who rarely missed a game and enthusiastically cheered for her team every season.
Above all, Ellie treasured her family and friends. She will be remembered for her compassion, kindness, and unwavering love for others. Her positive spirit, warm heart, and zest for life touched everyone who knew her, and she truly lived life to the fullest.
Ellie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Tetzlaff; her son, Terry Tetzlaff; her brothers, Bill, Bob, and Jack; and her parents, John Gorman and Mae Evans.
She is survived by her daughter, Shari; daughter-in-law, Rita; grandchildren, Greg and wife Colette, Jared and wife Dana, Jena and husband Jarett, and Heather and husband Steve; and great-grandchildren, Katelyn and fiancé Todd, Natalie, Zachery, Madilyn, Elijah, John Bennett, and Evelyn.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Regina, Mary, and Rona of Good Love Hospice, as well as the caring staff of Methodist Memorial Hospital, for their compassion, support, and dedicated care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of her husband, Earl, and son, Terry, or to a charity of one's choice.
Ellie's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
