Elizabeth Flores Chapa
December 16, 1939 – February 5, 2020
Liz was born in Goree, Texas on December 16, 1939. She was born to Jacinto and Tomasa Chapa. Around the age of 4, she lost her father in a farm tractor accident. A few years later, her mother married Rafael Acosta who raised her and her older brother Isaac in Wichita Falls, Texas. Liz passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 5, 2020 at the age of 80 at a hospice hospital in Fort Worth, Texas after a visit from all the family on that day. She departed that night with her brother Tommy at her side. Liz is preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers Isaac Chapa and Ruben Acosta. Liz never married and had no children but is survived by her brother Tommy Acosta, nieces, nephews, many grand nieces and nephews, other family and many friends. She lived most of her life in Arlington, Texas and retired from Southwestern Bell. She graduated from LABI, Latin American Bible Institute, and ministered as a youth leader for many years at Templo Emanuel Church in San Angelo and First Spanish AG in Wichita Falls, Texas. She will be remembered as a strong woman of God and a strong prayer warrior. She followed our mother's phone praying ministry for many years. Many times she would pray with her neighbors while on daily walks. Liz would speak the word of God to anyone who would listen. Know that if she knew you, she prayed for you. The family will miss her daily prayer, but she taught us to pray for one another and remind each other to always trust in the Lord. Services will be at 10 A.M. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive in Arlington, Texas. A graveside service will be held at a later date at which time her urn will be buried in our mother's grave. The family wishes to thank everyone for the support with prayers and visits to the nursing home and hospital. IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL. TO GOD BE THE GLORY.

I always loved seeing Liz at family reunions. I didn’t know that much about her, but I knew she was a Godly lady, sweet, kind and loving. I’m so sorry for the family’s loss and send my love and prayers. Judi (Victoria Garza-Williams’ daughter)

I met Liz over 45 years ago at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was my manager in Operator Services in Arlington on the Aquarius Unit. She was very helpful and caring, giving advice not only for my job, but for my well being in so many areas of my life. I have cherished her friendship all of these years.. Liz cared for her family, friends, and neighbors so intensely and never hesitated to say prayers and help out whenever she was needed. She will be missed by so very many. I wanted to post pictures of the luncheons we attended with other friends who worked at SWBT and AT&T. This quote from the Wizard of Oz is so fitting when I think of her:
A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.

I have so many fond memories of Liz from many years together at SWB Telephone. She was always caring, upbeat, and just made me happy when I was with her. We will all miss her incredibly.

Liz will be missed in our neighborhood. As her health worsened, neighbors missed her walking and stopping to pray at every home.
May she rest in peace.

All I know about Liz is that my sister, Eva Ureste, always used to tell me about how Liz kept up with everything happening in the Flores family and she would notify everyone. This was deaths and marriages for example for these reasons, she will be greatly missed. Before Tia Thomasa died Liz was a great comfort and support to her mother.
