Born on December 22, 1936, in Brady, Texas, to Andrea Cruz, Emma was raised in George West, Texas. As the oldest of eight siblings, she developed the strength and determination that defined her throughout her life. In 1954, she married Marcelino Castro, and together they built a family that became her greatest blessing.
Emma was a woman of strength, faith, and resourcefulness. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, shelling, and collecting antiques. She had a tender heart for animals and was always willing to help others. Known for making something out of nothing, she faced life’s challenges with determination and lived life the best she could.
Above all, Emma was the heart of the family, bringing generations together and making every gathering feel like home. Her unconditional love, strength, and wisdom will continue to live on through the generations she helped shape.
Emma was preceded in death by her son, Noah Castro Sr.; son-in-law, Heraclio Arambula; and grandson, Joseph Castro, Jr.
She leaves behind her beloved companion of 30 years, Gilberto Garza Sanchez; her brother, Lupe Cruz of Lubbock, Texas; and her children: Jesse and Tina Castro, Joseph and Jessica Castro, Marine Castro, Yvonne Pena, Wanda Gutierrez and Raul Cavazos, Darlene Castro, and Belinda and Mario Aldrete. She also leaves behind 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, each carrying a piece of her love and legacy.
Rest peacefully, Mom. May you be welcomed into God’s loving arms, reunited with those who went before you, and embraced by His eternal peace.
You will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever be in our hearts.
