Eve was born on June 14, 1925 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Clara May (Ishmael) and Louis Emerson Shoemaker.
Eve became an accomplished seamstress. At a very young age of 12, making most of her own clothes, Eve earned an A+ on her very first sewing project in school. She loved going to school and graduated from Ottumwa High School. During WWII, Eve worked at an ammunition plant in Burlington, Iowa, packing TNT. She also worked at the telephone company and Olan Mills. Eve married Charles Vanderlinden in 1946, and went to school to become a beautician. Eve developed a passion for painting and owned Galleria Art Center in Arlington, Texas for many years. At an Art Gala she met her second husband, Michael S. Suhar to whom she was married to for 43 years, until his death in 2018.
Eve was preceded in death by both parents; her sister, Louise Stoher (Chester); brother, Joseph Shoemaker, brother, Harold Shoemaker, sister, Alice Jean Hiatt (Bob) Elsie May (Elly) Slavinsky (Gary);
her 1st husband, Charles Vanderlinden and most recently her loving husband, Michael S. Suhar.
She is survived by her brother, Robert (Bob) Shoemaker and his wife Doris of Trenton, Texas; stepsons,
Michael W. Suhar (Diane) of Mesquite, Texas and Marc Suhar of Camden, Arkansas; dear friend Helen Otto, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Interment is at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas, where she will once again join her husband Michael S. Suhar.
Rest in Peace Eve, it has been a long journey.
