Born June 28, 1928, as sixth of six children, her young years were spent working on the family farm. She would often share stories of walking the dairy cows down the road to pasture and back again in the evening. On Dec. 12, 1943, Faye married Aubrey Edwin Sanders Sr. Shortly thereafter, they relocated to Fort Worth, then moved to Arlington in 1958. Faye earned her cosmetology license, volunteered for the Red Cross and became a successful real estate agent. She enjoyed collecting many fine items including dishes and dolls. As the family grew, Faye always found a way to work so she was home with her children. Each child was precious. She instilled in them an avid love of reading, music and hope for tomorrow through honest hard work. One could always find a hot meal three times a day at Faye's table. She would say, "Come on in! There is always room for one more."
Coming from the Depression era, Faye had her own mission repurposing items to those in need whether it was family, friend or stranger. Faye was well respected in the business community and she was known as a woman of her word graced with beauty, honesty and kindness.
Hearing the gospel in Silverton, she sincerely believed in the value of the eternal soul. She took her babies and grandbabies faithfully to meeting, special meeting and conventions to hear the gospel and prayed for God's word to be accepted in their hearts. The hymn "God's Word is So Pure and So Precious to Me" was her favorite hymn. She loved it to sing to her children and grandchildren. Now through her love, it is passed to the great-grandchildren. The songs of Zion will never fade away for her as she has gone the last mile of the way and her eternal morning has finally dawned. There are no tears where she is going. Should you shed a tear, hear her say once again, "Dry your pretty eyes. You are too pretty to cry!"
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Aubrey Edwin Sanders Sr.; parents, Sid and Vivian Williams; sisters, Ruby Lee, Nora, Edna and Billie; precious daughter, Sandra Carolyn; and great-grandson, Peanut Robinson.
Survivors: Brother, Henry Williams of Morton; children, Betty Diann Sanders Parker, Sherry Lynn Sanders Anderson, Aubrey Edwin Sanders Jr., Deloris Ann Sanders Briggs and Julie Darlene Sanders Dudley; cherished grandchildren, Robie, Krikit, Mandy, Craig, Tamara, Joe II, Martin, Harley, Donovan, Aaron, Brytany, Jennifer, Laura, Angela, Billy, Jeff Jr., Jon and Scotty; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
