Ike was born on November 7, 1929 in Cedar Bayou, Texas to George Walter Eichelberger and Nona Anna Thomas Eichelberger. Ike proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War
from July 22,1948 to April 25,1952 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal.
After serving in the Army, Ike worked as an automotive supervisor where his passion for cars began. One car he had was a 1969 Red Pontiac Catalina Convertible and he was proud of that car as it sure did stand out on the streets of Arlington, TX. As a matter of fact it was that car he drove to pick up this beautiful woman for their first date. Esta Haley was looking forward to going out with this tall handsome gentleman by the name of Ike Eichelberger but when she saw that sleek red convertible, she just about fell over!
Ike and Esta were married in 1972 and began their lives together in Arlington where they found the perfect area to settle. They became owners of the first home in the neighborhood and that home full of so many good memories remains in the family.
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Ike will be deeply missed by all who knew
and loved him.
