Francisco Carmona Cortez

A visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012 on Monday, February 22, 2021 beginning at 8 AM. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9 AM with a Catholic Funeral Service beginning at 10 AM. Interment to follow at 1 PM at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with Military Honors.

Known and loved by all as Frank, was born October 3, 1933, in Rio Hondo, Texas. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from the United States Postal Service in 1995.

Frank was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Genoveva Cortez; his wife, Elidia J Cortez; daughter, Nereida C. Norris; and his siblings, Rosa Martinez, Gregorio Cortez Jr and Ignacio Cortez.

Survivors include his daughters, Diana J. Cortez, Mitzi L. King, Elidia C. Wharton and her husband, Paul C. Wharton Jr.; Sons, Francisco J Cortez Jr and his wife, Monica Cortez, Randy J. Cortez; his grandchildren, Diana Ann Cortez, John Joseph Lee Cortez, Sophia Nereida Cortez; sister, Juanita C. Atkinson and her husband Leo Atkinson; brother, Pedro Cortez along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Our Frank opened his heart and his home to all. His impact is felt if we continue to share and scatter the kindness, fairness and goodness he gave us all.
