Born in Bono, TX, on November 28, 1922 to James Cone Southerland and Mary Elizabeth Martin.
He graduated from Paschal High School, was married multiple times and had a career in Aeronautic Logistics for General Dynamics (Lockheed Martin).
He was a member of Elks Lodge, and had a passion for gardening, tinkering, dancing, traveling and spending time with his family.
Survivors: His son, Coney Southerland and spouse Susan Kelly; daughters Cynthia Southerland and partner Jo Albertson, and Monette and husband Bill Clark; grandchildren, Coney Southerland Jr, Bethany Dicker, Corey Southerland and wife Colleen, William "B.J." Clark and Nicholas Clark; great-grandchildren, Jessica Dicker, Chuck Southerland, Connor Southerland and Maggie Southerland; sister-in-law Gracie Mae "Polly" and many nieces and nephews.
