We are overwhelmed by the loss of our loving son, Garrett, on Thursday 12/23/21 at the age of 37. Garrett was born in Evanston, IL on May 6, 1984 in the same hospital where his mom and maternal grandfather were born. He lived the majority of his life in the Arlington and Irving, TX areas. Garrett attended Lamar High School, Texas Tech, and graduated from UT Arlington.
Garrett loved spending time with friends and family. He especially cherished time with his best friend and brother Jeremy. His favorite times were vacationing in Colorado with family, where he would ski, snowboard, hike, and pal around with Jeremy. Garrett had a caring soul and was drawn to help others. He held on to that passion and aspired to be a counselor. Although Garrett’s life was lived through a lens of mental health issues and related substance use, he continued to work to restore his health.
Garrett is survived by his loving parents, Dianne and Mike. He also is survived by his grandfather Jim Puls; his uncles and aunts Steve and Joy Veris, Lowell and Donna Puls, and John and Sheila Puls; and his many cousins and friends. Garrett is preceded in death by his brother Jeremy.
Garrett, we will never forget how you loved your family and longed to make them happy. We take comfort in knowing that you’re with Jeremy again- happy, healthy, and watching over us. We’ll celebrate the day when we all can be together again.
A brief, graveside funeral service will be held promptly at 12:00pm on Wednesday January 5th, at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis, Arlington, TX 76012.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made to Heartlight Ministries at Heartlight Ministries | Heartlight Ministries (raisedonors.com) where Garrett’s memory will have a lasting impact on struggling teens and their families.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.moore-funeralhome.com for the Puls family.
