Gene Nichols Kennedy, 79, of Arlington, Texas passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 in Arlington. A Remembrance Reception will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Moore Funeral Home Central Reception Hall. Friends are invited to share refreshments and memories with the family during this time.
Gene was born January 7, 1936 near Jesup, Georgia, the only child of Inman William Kennedy and Wanell Elizabeth Nichols Kennedy. He graduated from Lancaster High School and received his Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University. He married Pearl Elizabeth Bates on October 31, 1970 in DeSoto, Texas. Gene had a career in lighting sales for Westinghouse, Duffy Kennedy Lighting, and Hossley Lighting. He always enjoyed sports and time with family.
Gene is survived by his wife Elizabeth, two sons; David Kennedy and Clay Kennedy and his wife Kara and grandchildren Wren Kennedy, Hugh Kennedy and one on the way. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association, Humane Society, or Texas Tech Alumni Association.
