Please know that your family has been in my heart and prayers with the passing of Uncle Jerry. I see the family we have in heaven, laughing about the "good old days" and telling all the funny stories about growing up over and over again.
My heart goes out to you Joy, Chris and Kerry.  As my father passed...I understand the lose and miss my father very much. You're in my prayers with the sense of missing your father. 
Aunt Shirley I will always remember the laughter at family gatherings..miss those days very much. 
But very proud of what the Peterson family has given me in raising my own family. Uncle Jerry was truely loved.

Uncle Jerry, I mainly remember seeing you every Christmas when I was growing up.  Then you moved.  But I really Love you and you are missed!  Love, your Niece, Merry Hoppes (Schleining)

I remember when Jerry and Shirley visited us at our new house in Kalamazoo, MI way back in the late 60's.  Jerry really enjoyed the trip, especially the beautiful gold coast along Lake Michigan.  One evening we climbed a tall dune and watched a flaming red sun set into the water and then rolled and tumbled down the dune like little kids.  This zest for living and ability to fully enjoy the moment is what I remember the most about Jerry.  He will be dearly missed.  Shirley and family, you are in out thoughts and prayers.

I remember Jerry telling me a story about his courting of Shirley.  He would sit alone with her on the front porch of the Peterson house.  Anytime Jerry would think about making "a move" on Shirley, Shirley's older brother Harlan would drive the family car across the front of the house at high speed.  Harlan would slam on the brakes and the car would spin completely around 2-3 times in the gravel road.  Jerry knew anyone who could spin a car three times was not to be fooled with, so Jerry kept his hands to himself.

I don't know if the story is true, but knowing both Harlan and Jerry, I suspect there's a bit of truth in there somewhere.

We miss Jerry (and Harlan) so much.  Love and sympathy to everyone.

I love seeing these great pictures and wish I could be there to give you all big hugs!  Memories of family visits at your house in Lincoln are still warming my heart...especially Uncle Jerry's big smile to welcome us.  
And all those wonderful hearty laughs we cousins heard coming out of the kitchen full of all the parents...  
Our prayers are full of thanks for these wonderful memories and for Uncle Jerry.

I remember Jerry as being so energetic and humorous. Jerry was always so welcoming to everyone.

Even though we are not blood, Jerry always made me feel like we were! He accepted me from day one and always met me with smile. I loved jerry and will miss him dearly. He was a wonderful father and a great husband. Heaven is lucky to receive you!

Please know that you are all in our prayers from all of us here in WI. I remember Uncle Jerry always laughing and having a smile on his face.

Uncle Jerry was a wonderful uncle to me and I will miss him dearly!  If it weren't for him relocating to Texas decades ago, I probably wouldn't be here now.  I love having all his family here. My heart goes out to my Aunt Shirley, their children, and the rest of their loved ones. I can't believe I won't spend another Christmas with him, ask him for advice, or enjoy his sense of humor.  A fond farewell to a wonderful man!
