Many great nieces and nephews she loved and adored.
Jan was preceded in death by her beloved and devoted husband Carl Worlock, her sister Sherry Lamb, her father Woodsy “Bill” Holden, her mother Myrtle Holden.
Our beloved Mother/Grandmother/Aunt/Sister in law, Gloria Jan Holden Worlock, crossed over into eternity to be with her Savior, Jesus, and to be reunited with her husband, Carl, on September 11th, 2023. Jan was surrounded by her children as she passed peacefully into eternity.
Jan was born in Amarillo, Texas in 1946 to Myrtle Mae and Woodsy “Bill” Holden, and sister Sherry Holden Lamb.
She eventually moved from Texas to Phoenix, Arizona with her family. She met her husband, Carl, in Arizona and they married in Las Vegas. Jan had her first child, Michelle, in Arizona in 1964 and her second child, Todd, in Arizona in 1966.
Jan moved back to Texas with her family in 1977 and was instrumental in leading her entire immediate family to the Lord. Jan’s faith in Jesus was most important to her and anyone that met her met Jesus! In 1978 Jan and her family started attending Shady Grove Church in Grand Prairie, Texas where she and her family were members until 2013. Jan made many beautiful and lifelong friendships and connections during her time at Shady Grove.
In the late 1980’s God brought a young man into Jan and Carl’s life who needed a home and family and they took Paul in and he became as a son to them. Jan lived in the same home in Arlington, Texas from 1978-2023 and had many friends that were like family in the neighborhood who were very dear to her.
Jan loved people, always friendly, always a smile, always willing to help those in need. Jan was also a lover of all animals (dogs in particular). Every dog she ever had was a rescue and she loved them and took care of them like they were her children. Jan was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. She put her whole heart into her immediate and extended family and into making her house a home for her husband and her children (“adopting” many of her children’s friends).
Her home was a warm and welcoming refuge for so many over the years.
Jan will be so greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Our hearts are heavy as we learn to navigate this life without her, but we rejoice that she is with her Savior, Jesus, and now dancing with her beloved Carl in heaven free from pain and surrounded by God’s eternal love.
