

Reverend Gregory Alan Deering D.Min., 66, of Arlington, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas. Services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at International Baptist Church, formerly University Baptist Church, 1013 West Park Row, Arlington, Texas. Burial will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens.
Greg was born January 2, 1951 in Lubbock, Texas to John Deering and Louise Fisher Deering. He graduated from Monterrey High School and received a B.A. in Sociology from Texas Tech University and went on to receive a Master of Divinity, and Doctorate of Ministries from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He married Sharon Anise Kennedy on August 28, 1970 in Lubbock. Greg was a pastor and missionary for 49 years including extended Missionary work in Brazil.
Reverend Deering was preceded in death by his father and by his oldest brother, Donald Deering.
Survivors include his wife Sharon, his mother Louise Deering, children: Ginger Berry (Richard), Dawn Younger (Cole), Alana Thompson (Jonathan) grandchildren: Rivir Berry, Dawna Berry, Katie Berry, Connor Younger, Hayley Younger, Kinsey Younger, Ansley Younger, Juliana Thompson, Makena Thompson, and Gunner Thompson, sister, Carolyn (Bob) Gay and brother, Tim Deering.
