Helen Marie Concannon Woodard

Funeral: 10 am Friday at St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens

Visitation : 5-7 Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas

Helen was born October 12, 1924, in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended Loyola University and held a nursing degree from Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She also worked with the Red Cross. Helen married Thomas W. Woodard in 1952 and moved to Maitland, Florida in 1963 and raised 5 children. Helen was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish and in 1966 hosted the first Neighborhood Mass. In the 70’s Helen was President of Birth Right. In 1978 they moved to Fort Worth, Texas and joined St. Rita’s Parish where she was in the healing ministries into her late 80’s. Helen loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Thomas W. Woodard and daughter, Mary Ellen Babb.

Survivors: Two sons, Thomas C. Woodard and Sean M. Woodard. two daughters, Kathleen A. Woodard and Angela W. Chittenden and husband Richard Chittenden Jr. cousin, Bernard Coyne. 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and her faithful pet Diva.
