Henrietta Marie Skaggs

Funeral: 2 pm Thursday August 13, 2015 at Moore Funeral Home, followed by the interment in Moore Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to gather as of 1 pm.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Northwest Christian Church of Arlington or to a charity of your choice.

Henrietta was born March 24, 1924 in Gallatin, Missouri to Henry David Stewart and Lillie Frances Sabens.

Their family moved to Texas in 1940, settling in Arlington where she graduated at the top of her class from Arlington High School. Henrietta continued her education and graduated from North Texas Agricultural College in Arlington.

Henrietta married Dudley S. Skaggs of Fort Worth on October 4, 1949 and was always known as a busy church participant at First Christian Church in Fort Worth and Northwest Christian Church in Arlington. She could be counted on to make a reassuring phone call to a sick friend, organize meals for families in need or craft items for church fundraisers. Throughout her daughters' school years she was a member of parent organizations by serving several years in PTA at Sagamore Hill Elementary School in Fort Worth. Henrietta served as a shining example to her friends and family by her selfless service to others first and foremost.

Survivors: her husband Dudley Skaggs; daughters Patricia Quillin and husband Gary Quillin of Arlington, Barbara Estes and husband Beau Estes of Midland, TX; granddaughters Nicolasa Quillin Biegler of Arlington, Bailey Estes of Midland, TX; great-grandchildren Gary David Biegler of Ovilla, TX and Nicole Quillin Zuniga of Arlington.
