Howie, Howie, Howie had it not been for you I would not have ever met and married my soul mate David.  I remember all the times you sat at the bar at the VFW and played the juke box and sang at the top of your lungs, along with me. We had to shut the door to the bingo hall because we were too loud and when Phillip joined in, well it was too mcuh for Al to handle so I would get fussed at.You were a true friend and gave me lots of good advice when I was down and out over some relationship gone wrong.  Then that memorable night you brought my true love in and introduced us I knew that very night that he was the one.  Thank you Howie for making my life complete.  You were a true blue friend and always brought a smile to my face with you just walking in that VFW door. I knew the night at the V was going to be interesting and there would be a few laughs. You knew so much about everything and were willing to share your knowledge.  Husband and I are sorry we didn't keep in closer contact with you and Jackie thru the years.  Rest in peace my friend.  May the perpetial light shine upon you.  You are in Heaven now with the Lord, but never forgotten.  Jackie our prayers are with you and if you ever need anything, please call us.  We will keep in touch.

Howard, I know you are watching down on us with bemusement seeing the stir that has been created by your sudden departure.  Many knew you well, but not well enough and for a long time, but not long enough.  I personally will never enter the office the same without seeing your smiling face and enjoying our too brief exchanges.  I miss you.  God bless you my friend.

There are so many people who Howard affected.  He was always so courteous and professional.  Simple words here can not convey how so many people felt about him as a friend and co-worker.  He will be sorely missed.

Working with Howard over the last 15 years has been a pleasure. We would often discuss our West Texas roots and our favorite Country and Western Songs. We shared common likes of the C & W songs and literally would start singing a few select ones at the drop of a hat (not that either of us could carry a tune). A big smile would come across Howards face when we struck up one of his favorite tunes together especially "Some Days are Diamond, Some Days are Stone" and appropriately now "Happy Trails to You". Howard will be missed for sure, but no forgotten by a long shot.

I will always remember when I was laid off from FFE Howard was the only one that came to me and told me if I needed anything don't hesitate to call him.
