Obituary of Jack Robert Bos
IN THE CARE OF

Moore Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens

Jack Robert Bos, 98, also affectionately known as "papa" to his family, died peacefully on June 20, 2024. He lived a full and abundant life, and now is in the loving arms of his lord and savior. He was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He attended and graduated from RPI in Troy, NY. Upon graduation from college, Jack went to work for Vought-Sikorsky Aircraft in Strafford, Connecticut. It was here that he met and married the love of his life, Ann Elizabeth Tarnowski. In 1948, Vought bought portion of the company and moved to Grand Prairie, Texas and was known as Chance Vought Aircraft, later known as LTV. Jack and Ann moved to Dallas, Texas to continue his employment with the company. It was here that 2 children were born to complete the family.

After a couple of years Jack's supervisor moved on and Jack became head of the testing laboratory, as Chief of Structures and Systems. Jack continued in this position throughout his career of 40 years at Vought and was involved in the development of the Vought aircraft including the XC-142, F7U Cutlass, F8U Crusader, A7 Corsair and a number of Missiles and Rockets.

In his spare time, Jack was an avid reader of military novels and books, traveling with his wife in their RV, meeting up with friends, enjoying tennis, boating at near-by lakes and generally having a great time with family and friends.

Jack had a deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and was zealous about studying the Word of God and sharing his testimony with others. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington for many years, and especially enjoyed the Bible study Sunday School class that he was involved with.

He was preceded in death by Ann, and also his daughter Diane. He is survived by son Robert (Bob) and wife, Tammy; granddaughter Jennifer and husband Jimmy.

Private graveside services will be held for the family.
