James was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He joined the Air Force and moved to Fort Worth, TX where he met his wife Waunita, sharing over 50 years together. James specialized in missile maintenance and retired as a Master Sergeant.
After military service James worked as a Postman for many years and concluding his career with the Arlington Independent Scholl District as bus driver.
James was preceded in death by his wife Waunita, his brother Jerald, and son Gary Hott.
Survivors: Brother Therman Crocker, Sister Irene Townsend, children Dianne Yeatts, Randy Hall, and Dolores Rovenko, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
