

James Bernard Miller, fondly known as "Jim" or "Coach," age 94, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 4, 2024. Born on July 21, 1930, to Bernard and Aurelia Miller of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jim married Joan Haines, his high school sweetheart on June 9, 1951, and they subsequently adopted three children, Michael, Kathy and Gregory. Following positions at The Milwaukee Journal and Uarco Business Forms in Green Bay, Jim made the decision, in 1967 to relocate his family to Arlington, Texas to pursue his lifelong dream of owning his own business. After several years of struggling, Jim and Joan became successful business owners of Miller Business Systems, which was sold in 1992, and Business Interiors, which is still in operation today.
Due to Jim's success in business and his larger-than-life personality, he became an icon of the office products industry. He serves as President of the National Office Products Association (NOPA), and did motivational speaking, both within and outside of the office products industry. Jim authored two books; The Corporate Coach and Best Boss Worst Boss and was a mentor and inspiration to many. Jim was also named Citizen of the Year in Arlington, Texas.
JIm and Joan traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally. They enjoyed spending holidays in Texas with their children and grandchildren, summers in Northern Wisconsin and Winters in Kauai, Hawaii! Jim loved the Green Bay Packers and regularly made trips to the iconic Lambeau Field to see his team play.
In 2019, Jim incurred a spinal cord injury from a fall. Although this conditional radically changed his life, his positive attitude remained unchanged and he insisted that no one should be sad when he passed, because he lived a wonderful life!
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; his parents, Bernard and Aurelia and his brother, Jack.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Cindy) of Colleyville, TX; Daughter, Kathy White (Stan) of Argyle, TX; Son, Gregory (Karen) of Grapevine, TX; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Marilyn Devine of Wisconsin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on October 10, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive Arlington, Texas 76012. A Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with a Rosary prior to the service at 10:30 AM at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 6500 Crawford Road Argyle, Texas 76226.
