Jesse Lewis Tillery

Jesse Lewis Tillery, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in North Richland Hills, Texas surrounded by his family. Jesse was born on February 18, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas to Farlon Lewis Tillery and Jessie Mae Smelcher. He was raised in Arlington, Texas where he graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1964.

He married Jeannie Marie Tillery in 1981, they shared five children. Jessie was a natural born salesman and minister for more than 45 years in Fort Worth, Texas.

In his spare time, he enjoyed singing and playing his guitar as he was a musician. He loved visiting with his family and friends, doing yard work, cooking/grilling, and if you ask his family, you would know he was a master delegator. His greatest joy and passion were enjoying the laughter of his friends, wife, children, grandchildren and anyone else he encountered.

Jesse will be truly missed by many relatives and friends. He will always be remembered for the kindhearted man who always carried a smile and the music he shared with all his loved ones. He never hesitated to lend a hand to help others.

He is preceded in death by his father, Farlon Tillery, mother, Jessie Smelcher Tillery, oldest son, Bryan Tillery, sisters, Mildred York and Anna Pounds and his brother-in-law, Randy Pounds.

Jesse is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Jeannie Tillery, sister, Grace Shepherd, daughters, Sherri Tillery, Gale and her husband, Ronnie Wortham, sons, Matthew and Jason Tillery; eight grandchildren, Bryan Tillery, Garrett Wortham, Colson Tillery, Raegan Tillery, Liam Tillery, Jesse Tillery, Allison Tillery and Emily Tillery.

A funeral service will occur Monday, March 3, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A graveside service will occur Monday, March 3, 2025 at 2:30 pm at Parkdale Cemetery.
