

Jimmy Walter Maness, 61, beloved husband and friend, passed away on May 14, 2025 with his wife by his side. Born to Carol Booth and Jimmy A Maness, He grew up with a passion for sports and adventure that continued throughout his life. A devoted sportsman, racing enthusiast, and distinguished professional in the credit union industry, Jimmy lived a life full of passion and purpose. His warmth, determination, and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. In 1986, Jimmy married the love of his life, Karen Whiteman, and together they built a life filled with adventure, friendship, and unwavering support for one another. He served 28 years as Vice President in the banking industry with 10 years at The Local Federal Credit Union, where his love for his work and his colleagues fostered lasting friendships and professional respect. Jimmy’s passion for travel began at a young age as he explored nearly every state with his family, fueling a lifelong love for adventure. This enthusiasm carried into adulthood, where he meticulously planned and organized incredible journeys across the world. Whether cruising to breathtaking destinations or embarking on new experiences, he shared his travels with Karen, creating unforgettable memories together. Jimmy is survived by his wife Karen, mother Carol Booth and step-father Bill Booth, father Jimmy A Maness and step-mother Patti Maness, brother Wesly Maness, sister-in-law Robin Maness, Aunt Pat King, and Aunt Linda Duck. He is also lovingly remembered by his father- and mother-in-law, Warren and Maryanna Whiteman, as well as his extended family: sister-in-law Pam Fleischacker and her husband Todd Fleischacker, sister-in-law Kim Green and her husband Harold Green, sister-in-law Janet Simeon and her husband Randy Simeon, brother-in-law Eric Whiteman and his wife Jackie Whiteman. Additionally, he leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews: Zoe, Grant, Olivia, Julia, Kari, Christopher, Daniel, Art, Brian, Ashley, Shauna, Necolette, Chloe, and Noah, along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on May 22, 2025, at Moore’s Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m., located at 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas. Funeral service will take place on May 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, located at 2927 SW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, Texas. Following the service, a graveside service will be held at Moore Memorial Gardens.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his unwavering love for sports, service, friendship, and exploration.
