Jo Etta Glusing, age 80, passed away on July 8th, 2024 in McKinney, TX. She was born on October 25th, 1943 in Waco, TX to Vernon Bain and Helen Powers (Gardiner). Jo Etta was raised in Waco, TX and graduated from Waco High School in 1962. She then went on to study journalism at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX.
Jo Etta met John Glusing while living in Corpus Christi, TX. She and John were married in 1965 and went on to have two children, Eric and Greg. They ended their marriage in 1976 and Jo Etta went back to work to support her two sons. She went to work for Arlington Savings where she rose to the position of Vice President. In 1992 she decided to change careers and went to work as a flight attendant with American Airlines.
Jo Etta truly enjoyed her job as a flight attendant and got to travel all over the U.S. She retired from American after 17 years and loved to tell stories from her time as a flight attendant.
Her greatest pleasure however was raising her two sons, Eric and Greg. She was a wonderful mother and worked very hard to take care of them both.
Jo Etta is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Lola Bain, and Morris and Helen Powers.
She is survived by her sons Eric Glusing (wife Ashley) of Celina, and Greg Glusing (wife Elvia) of Carrollton. Her grandchildren Reese Glusing of Dallas, and Emily Tomson of Richardson.
