Joan was born to George and May Blasl on September 25, 1939, in Bronx, New York. She was married to Luigi “Louis” Liguori for over 32 years. She worked as a wedding gown model in her early adult years. Once she had children, she stayed home to raise them and that meant everything to her. She moved overseas with her husband and family and lived in several countries including Costa Rica, Venezuela, Mexico and Peru over a span of 15 years before returning to the United States.
She will be remembered for being a selfless person who always put others ahead of herself. Her family was her life. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them, especially her adored grandchildren. Joan loved her garden, decorating her home, crafting, and playing word games on her iPad. She was a word wiz! Joan was straightforward, honest, and had a keen sense of humor. She always told stories, she remembered EVERYTHING…names, places, details. No one would ever challenge her memory! She loved Christmas, had an abundance of decorations and she would adorn the entire house with them. On Christmas morning the family couldn’t even fit in the living room because the gifts took over. She was overly generous of spirit to those she loved deeply. She will be missed beyond measure every day until we are reunited in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Liguori; mother May Blasl; father George Blasl; sisters Marion Cafiero and Helen Russo; Grandfather George Blasl
She is survived by her children, Daniel (Jennifer) Liguori; Cathy (Robert) Croy; Diane (John) Poglajen; Christine Liguori; her 6 grandchildren, Courtney McMillian; Amanda Liguori; Nicholas McMillian; Danielle Liguori; Sabrina Liguori; Scott Liguori, and 3 step-grandchildren, Dylan Greenough; Nicholas Greenough; Sarah Greenough
