John Arthur Garbers

Funeral: 2:00 pm Tuesday September 6, 2016 at Moore Funeral Home, followed by interment at Parkdale Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday September 5, 2016 at the funeral home.

John was born on November 14, 1945 in Beloit Wisconsin to Arthur Frederick Garbers and Dorothy Jeanette Hiter. He married Kathy Suggs on April 8, 1995, and was retired from Bell Helicopter.

He was a sports fanatic, especially for the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. The family would like everyone who attends the funeral to wear their favorite sports jersey in his honor.

John was preceded in death by his parents Art and Dorothy Garbers, siblings Diana Garbers, Joseph "Butch" Garbers, Louis "Red" Garbers, Bill Garbers and his son's mother Rose Mary Garbers.

Survivors: wife Kathy Garbers, daughters Andi Scott (Todd) and Alicia Ponder (Don) and their mother Karen Laymon, son John Authur Garbers III "Trey", step daughter Shannon Patterson, step son Dustin Smith (Tesh), 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, sister Betty Jo Kelley (Larry), brother Thomas Garbers, furbabies Pepper and Sadie, and a host of family and friends.
