Jon grew up in Wichita and graduated from Wichita High School. He continued his education at the University of Texas at Austin and Tarrant County College, carrying forward a steady determination and self-reliance that would shape the life he built and the people who came to depend on him.
For more than 35 years, Jon worked with HVAC companies and eventually becoming part owner, a testament to a work ethic that never needed announcing to be recognized. He approached responsibility with quiet strength and consistency, earning respect through the way he showed up—day after day—with capable hands, sound judgment, and an independent spirit.
Outside of work, Jon found joy in playing his guitars, PC games, and the wide world beyond his doorstep through travel. Music remained a constant—listened to, played, and celebrated in the energy of concerts. Yet, even among his many interests, family and friends held a central place in his life. In ways both practical and deeply personal, Jon was a caregiver at heart, the steady presence others leaned on—the glue that held the family together.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Robert Kalp; his mother, Constance Wilson; his stepmother, Helene Kalp; his brothers, Robert Kalp and David Wilson; his stepsister, Melissa Rise; his nephews, Paul, Chris, and Alex; and his niece, Mariah.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on May 2, 2026, at Moore Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012.
