Jorge was born on May 4, 1968, in Mexico City to Elvia Lopez and Jose Herrera. As a young man, with nothing to his name, he left Mexico behind and ventured to the United States. Jorge settled in Arlington, Texas, where he established his home and family roots.
Jorge was a master carpenter who devoted over 25 years to the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and his career. He joined the Brotherhood of Carpenters in 1998 and was known for his strong work ethic. Jorge was versatile in his craft, working in several areas of the trade, but had a passion for exhibition work.
In his free time, he loved buying sneakers, grilling everything from fajitas to steaks and juicy burgers, working on home projects around the house, and supporting the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest joy above all came from swimming. Whether relaxing on a tropical beach or taking laps in the gym pool, Jorge truly lived in the water.
Jorge loved hosting friends and family for boxing fight nights, Dallas Cowboys game days, and any occasion worth celebrating.
He will always be remembered as a loving father, husband, tío, and friend to all who knew and loved him.
Jorge is survived by his wife, Maria Herrera; his sons, Cinue and Bryan Herrera; and his daughter, Michelle Herrera.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elvia Lopez; his father, Jose Herrera; and his highly spirited dog, Max.
