Joyce Kathryn Wheeler

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home.

Memorials: Contributions may be made to Woods Chapel Baptist Church or a charity of choice. Joyce would want us all to read and remember Matthew 11:28-30.

Joyce was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Brownwood. She graduated from Brownwood High School and TCU School of Nursing. She worked as a registered medical technician and was a devoted wife and mother. She took great joy in each child and grandchild and celebrated their accomplishments throughout life. She was very active in her church life and leaves many dear friends at both University Baptist and Woods Chapel Baptist Church in Arlington where she took particular pleasure in participating in her Sunday school and Golden Notes Choir. Other activities and accomplishments attained in her life include president of the Fort Worth A&M Mothers Club, president of Republican Women of Tarrant County, Arlington Old Timers, PTA, and teaching children's Sunday school and nursery with her husband.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Wheeler, her parents and all siblings.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful people who have lifted her up in the past months and in particular the staff at Arlington Memorial Hospital and the hospice care staff.

Survivors: Sons, Richard J. Wheeler Jr. and wife, Valerie, Bruce A. Wheeler and Bryan Alton Wheeler; daughter, Joy Lynn Jerger and husband, David; and grandsons, Russell, Brent, David Jr., Bryan, Ryan, Osten and Stephen.
