Kay retired from the City of Fort Worth. A longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, she gave generously of her time to the church, the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, and Methodist Justice Ministry. Bright, funny, and loyal, Kay loved her family and her corgis—Daisy, Dingus, Cassie, and Astrid.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband, John Yount; her brother, Bob Cameron; her sister, Suzi Steiger; and her nephew, Cameron Steiger. She is survived by her niece, Suzanna Steiger, and her nephews, Jon Cameron, Jason Cameron, and Jay Scurlock.
Services are pending. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Botanical Research Institute of Texas or Methodist Justice Ministry.
