Kenneth Leon Tummons

He was born on September 8, 1956, to Jimmie Lee Tummons and Frances Carlin Tummons in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On October 21, 1978, he married Carol Tummons, sharing almost 48 years of marriage. They moved to Texas in 1982 and raised twin daughters, Lana and Lisa.

Ken graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa, and after moving to Texas, furthered his education at Dallas Baptist University obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Engineering Management and a Masters Degree in International Business. He worked as an Aerospace Engineer for 28 years, including 2 terms in China for 5 and 1/2 years. He retired in 2012 and began an international business adventure, but his decline in health altered his plans.

A man of deep Christian faith, Ken lived with humility, patience, kindness and always willing to help others. In all his years of illness, his love for God never wavered. He was a member at Northgate Pentecostals and served on the Board of Trustees.

His grandchildren knew him as "Pop-O," a role he cherished. They were his bright rays of sunshine, always making him smile and laugh.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and a faithful friend whose patience and wisdom and faithfulness left a lasting impact.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Roberts.

Left to cherish his memories and his legacy are his wife, Carol Tummons; daughters, Lana Niragira and husband Frank, Lisa Torres and husband Joel; his grandchildren, Isaiah Torres, Amelia Torres, Avery Niragira, Kinsley Niragira, and bonus grandson, Rodrigo Torres; his sister, Peggy Harrison and husband Bobby; nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Taha Bat and medical team at UTSW for the exceptional care, compassion and dedication shown over the years in caring for Ken.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Northgate Pentecostals, 4647 City Point Drive, North Richland Hills, Texas.

Burial will follow at Laurel Land Rose Hill Cemetery, 7301 East Lancaster Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas.
