Kortney Leanne Reece, 35, of Arlington, TX took her mortal leave from this earth on June 11, 2019 to be reunited with her son, Ethan Jacob, and her mother, Joanne. Kortney had battled monophasic synovial sarcoma cancer for five years for which there has yet to be found a cure.
Kortney was born September 13, 1983 in Arlington, TX. She was an incredibly talented person.
She had a passion for cooking, writing, art, and music and was always interested in learning something new. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family, friends, and her furry sidekick, Harley. Kortney was adventurous and loved taking trips with her dad on his motorcycle as well as spending time on the beach with her friends. Kortney found a special friend, Jesse, to love and the two supported one another with unbarred devotion through each other’s struggles. In their conversations and writings, they ensured each day included happiness, hope, and compassion.
Kortney’s faith and belief in God played an essential part in her life. She studied and journaled the scriptures in detail and was known to share them with everyone. She attended Crossroads Christian Church in Grand Prairie and made it her church home.
Kortney could often be found at her favorite watering-hole, Stumpy’s, where she enjoyed the comradery of many of her favorite long-time buddies. Their support was very apparent when a benefit was recently held there for her. The attendance and contributions made were loving and generous from all who knew her; many wanted to be a part of the event as so many families have lost loved ones to cancer.
Although Kortney wanted to stay longer so she could see how her loved ones lives’ turned out, we know she is no longer in pain and she is holding the hand of her child, and her mother is holding hers. Kortney wanted everyone to “Go Live Your Life”. She was a beautiful angel on earth and will be missed dearly and remain in our hearts.
Kortney leaves behind her father, Glen Narcho; grandmother, Lynne Narcho; uncles, Andy McMillan and wife, Anne, and Bill Narcho and wife, Linda; aunt, Sali Whitworth and husband, Rick Gonzales; uncle, Bobby Whitworth; uncle, Mark Whitworth and wife, Rhonda; and cousins, Brent Rousey, Michael Rousey and wife Melissa, Taylor Whitworth, Ashlie Whitworth, Katelyn Rousey, and Tyler Rousey; and numerous loving relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death is her son, Ethan Jacob Reece; mother, Joanne Reece; grandmother, Ann Whitworth; and grandfather, Bobby Whitworth.
A committal service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 12 p.m. at Moore Memorial Gardens.
