Kathryn Bowen was born July 7, 1917 to Elmer Lane Brown and Laura H. Brown in Doddridge, Arkansas. She graduated from high school in Bloomberg, TX. She married Homer C. Bowen October 21, 1935.
Kathryn loved sewing, crafting, gardening and building. She was creative and a problem solver. Both her children earned engineering degrees. She designed and helped build the house they grew up in. Her husband was a science teacher, but we believe the engineering gene came from her. Whether it was building the set, props and costumes for the Christmas pageant or sewing the prefect evening gown for a school dance, she did it to perfection.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband Homer C. Bowen (who lived to share their 50th wedding anniversary), her parents, and her brothers Kenneth S. Brown and E. L. Brown.
The family would like to thank the staff of Town Hall Estates in Arlington, Texas for her excellent care.
Survivors: Son, Jerry R. Bowen; daughter, Diane Kathryn Bowen Collier and husband Richard A. (Dick) Collier; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
