Lacressa Kris Loyce Marcum

Funeral: 10:00 am Friday, December 8, 2017 in Moore Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment at Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home.

Lacressa was born on November 28, 1942 in Gordo, AL, to Lula Mae Wheat and William Oliver Burkhalter. She graduated from Tuscaloosa City High School in 1961 then married Paul G. Marcum on February 10, 1962.

Her early years were spent as a den-mother with the Cub Scouts. Later in life she volunteered 15 years with Medical Center of Arlington where she served as president of the Auxillary.

Lacressa adored doting on her grandchildren and was a dedicated military wife at various bases.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Joyce West and Sondra Lynn Akin and brother William “Buddy” Oliver Burkhalter Jr.

Survivors: her husband, Paul G. Marcum Sr; children Paul G. Marcum Jr, David J. Marcum and wife Tamra and James H. Marcum and wife Kelli; grandchildren Ashley Young and husband Derek, Paul G Marcum III, Kirstie Pham and husband Minh, Tyler Marcum, Jesse Marcum and Krissa Marcum; great-grandchildren Yasmein Young, Ashton Marcum and Kaydence Young; sister Carla Lee and husband Doug, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Jay Malone, Paul Marcum III, Daryl Lee, Scott Cantu, Ashton Marcum, Tom Auanger, Ledis Green and Sam Gothard.
