

Larry grew up in Seattle, Washington, where he developed a lifelong love of sports. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Washington, where he played both Collegiate baseball and basketball. He graduated in 1955 and later earned his master’s degree.
Following college, Larry proudly served his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he briefly pursued professional baseball, playing in the Chicago White Sox farm system. He then coached College Basketball at Wenatchee Valley College, before transitioning a career in the insurance industry.
In 1956, while stationed in Altus, Oklahoma, Larry met the love of his life, Elaine, on a blind date. Their meeting marked the beginning of a remarkable partnership that would span nearly seven decades of marriage.
In 1962, Larry began a distinguished career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent. He worked in the Phoenix, Cincinnati, Columbus and Fort Worth offices. Over his 26-year career with the FBI, he served in Ohio for 15 years before being promoted to Fort Worth, Texas in 1978. During his early years in Texas, he worked undercover on investigative assignments. Larry retired from the FBI in 1988 at the age of 55. Following his retirement, he continued his service to the nation by working for the Department of Defense.
Larry was passionate about sports throughout his life. He enjoyed coaching youth basketball and baseball, sharing his love of the game with younger generations. He was also an avid golfer and played as often as he could. As a dedicated member of the National Left Handed Golf Association, Larry served as a National Governor. He and Elaine enjoyed traveling internationally for many years with the NLGA. Over the course of his lifetime, Larry also had the opportunity to visit all 50 states.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Elaine Watson; his children, Trent Watson and wife Susan, Dave Watson, and Joy Moore and her husband Nathan. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren—Stephanie, Elaine, Paige, Emily, Grant, and Trey—and a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.
Larry will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his lifelong love of sports, travel, and patriotism.
A funeral service for Larry will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas.
