Leona Carretta Cashion

Carretta was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose kindness and love for her family will be remembered always. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Jay L. Cashion; an infant daughter; and three brothers.

Born in June 4, 1932, Eulogy, Texas, Carretta was the daughter of the late Lawrence A. Walker and Lovella Saunders McCoy. She attended school in Eulogy, Glen Rose, and Stephenville, Texas, before moving to Fort Worth.

Carretta began her career working in the City of Fort Worth Traffic Ticket Office, where she met the love of her life, Jay, a Fort Worth motorcycle police officer. She later began a career in banking, where she faithfully served for 31 years before retiring. Following her retirement, she worked at Texas Farrier Supply in Kennedale, where she formed many lasting friendships.

Carretta found joy in gardening, reading, shopping, and, most of all, spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Carretta Rae Huffstetter and her husband, Ron, of Arlington, Texas; granddaughter, Catherine Jang and her husband, JinYoung Jang; and grandson, Connor Huffstetter of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

A graveside interment service will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Carretta's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
